At what stage of animation films, televison shows, are branding assets like posters created?
I'm interested in hand-drawn computer animation in the style of traditional animation. I know there are at least three stages of animation: preproduction, production, and postproduction. Every studio has its own pipeline. I'd like to know at what stage is the marketing material like posters created, what marketing materials do they create, and what's goes into creating marketing material for hand-drawn computer animation in the style of traditional animation.
Is it early on in the process, before anything else, or is it after all the footage has been shot, so that they can get required photographs etc.
