Small-time crook Bill Murray devises an ambitious plan to rob a NYC bank, enlisting his longtime girlfriend (Geena Davis) and lifelong best buddy (Randy Quaid) as accomplices. Much to the trio's surprise, the heist is easily accomplished, so they think they're home free—until the getaway gets away from them. Escape is thwarted at seemingly every turn, leading Murray and co. to wonder if trying to escape the Big Apple is nothing but a fruitless exercise.
