The movie Velvet Buzzsaw is a 2019 supernatural horror film.

I found that in the film Rhodora Haze (Rene Russo), owner of the Haze Gallery was a former member of the rock band Velvet Buzzsaw. She had a tattoo on her back which in the end killed her.

I didn't find any other reference to Velvet Buzzsaw, so why the movie is named 'Velvet Buzzsaw'?

Because her band was named Velvet Buzzsaw and that was the final death in the movie.

Not all movie titles have a secret message in them or something. Star Wars - A war among the stars. John Wick - about a guy named John Wick. There's not always some hidden meaning in movie titles.

  • A "wick" is a burning string and is sometimes used to light things like a bomb, usually called a "fuse" when it has some gunpowder added to it as an accelerant. Not 100%, but that's my story and I'm sticking with it. – Patrick Hughes Feb 11 at 23:40
  • I don't think this is a very good explanation. A title doesn't need to have a secret message to be important - a title is very important for any movie, show, book or poem. It sets expectations by the audience, it helps set the tone. Saying "A title is just a name, it doesn't mean anything" misses a lot of meaning. – Avner Shahar-Kashtan Feb 13 at 20:59
