I rewatched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with my kids last night and I noticed that Wonka appears to be quoting famous works of literature or authors on a semi-frequent basis. Examples:

  • "The suspense is terrible. I hope it will last." -Oscar Wilde
  • "So shines a good deed in a weary world." - Shakespeare

What statements made in this film can be attributed to others in this manner?

If 200 item list of every Deadpool reference is on topic, this is on topic. – cde Dec 5 '16 at 19:23
  • And understanding the references of the film is not banal knowledge. – cde Dec 5 '16 at 19:24
