Aug 30, 2017 at 13:35 comment added Amicable @JonathanReez I've never seen it that way as it went wrong due to her inability to access a safe abortion through legal healthcare, not due to her choice to pursue an abortion. I see it more as advocating for making safe abortions more accessible for women of all classes. I think if the movie had meant to depict it as punishment they would have backed that point up, where as none of the characters portray it that way.
