Why is 'loner leader' / Léa Seydoux against love in " The lobster "?

The lobster, a satire movie that forceforces you to think. Spoilers ahead

Storyline

A love story set in a dystopian near future where single people are arrested and transferred to a creepy hotel. There they are obliged to find a matching mate in 45 days. If they fail, they are transformed into an animal and released into the woods. Written by R. Byma

In short I guess they're showing that our society is cruel to single people and we encourage to live together. We mark single people as unwanted. At least that what I understand.

So in the movie David (Colin Ferel) became single and thrown to that hotel. After a series of events he pretend to love a woman but gets caught that he didn't love her.So at the risk of becoming an undesired animal he tricked that woman, turned her into an animal and ran off from that hotel. Joined the loner group. That group has some rules which basically means no relationship. WHY?

Aren't they all ran off to become independent? Then why single people are putting cruel rules on themselves? What does it mean? And why loner leader Léa Seydoux is so desperate about rules that she blinded Rachel Weisz. What's the hidden meaning of this character loner leader?
