Oct 13, 2014 at 19:31 | comment | added | ThePopMachine | @vonjf: This doesn't really make it SF. No, it's just a slightly different history. That's what FICTION is. Is Family Ties scifi because Alex Keaton never really existed? No -- it's just fiction.
Mar 5, 2014 at 9:56 | comment | added | Rob | I appreciate that, it just struck me as odd that the author stats "In the world of "The Walking Dead," he said, the concept of zombies doesn't exist." when that isn't true.
Mar 4, 2014 at 23:13 | comment | added | DustinDavis | @Rob please see the comment I left on your answer. The comic book and TV series do NOT follow the same path and are only similar in a few ways. The further into the TV series we get, the less it resembles the comic.
Mar 4, 2014 at 20:09 | comment | added | ghoppe | @Rob I think the simple answer is that while the TV series is based on the Comic Book, they are different in plot and characters. They're set in different universes. Kirkman likely decided that having the characters unaware of a zombie trope would be a more interesting dramatic choice in a live-action setting.

Mar 3, 2014 at 21:54 | comment | added | Johnny Bones | @Rob - Dunno, brotha. Maybe they changed it in the comic book? I've never read any of them so I can't speak to that, but the quote above came straight from the author's mouth on a live TV show.
Mar 3, 2014 at 20:27 | comment | added | Rob | That's strange, I'm reading edition 12 of the comic books right now,and they've been referred to as zombies twice already.
