comment Why did Lord Coward not protect his machine
Few points: 1) I should change my question including Blackwood since afaik he wanted to dominate with fear. Only the professor wanted the machine itself. 2) Holmes does release his cuffs way before he jumped and even threw those to Coward. 3) I know that 30 would be unbelievable and many movies may have this problem but this movie is the first where it seemed like the villain put no effort in the defense. Maybe because I am used to the villain be part of the defense? I dont know.

comment Why is the purple wedding called purple wedding?
Blue blood is a reference to nobles. Therefore having a purple wedding is a mix of blue blood with red blood. But this would mean that the red wedding was without nobles. At the red wedding were no kings but lords.

@richard i thought so too but it is like someone would ask about harry potter and the philosopher stone and you would answer that dumbledore dies. it completes the answer but i would still set it in spoilers. but since spoilers are not recommended i think this site is only good (for me at least) for single movies and not for tv/movie series. furthermore we should not discuss in comments and switch to meta

comment Unwritten rule that you never show a child getting seriously injured or killed?
thank you for your complex answer. Of course strange movies do not sell very good (like stuff from Lynch) but those art films are a niche where limits get crossed and revenue does not count that much. As you pointed out Irreversible is such a film (i liked it very much). Since people try to shock the public afresh (Lars van Trier comes to mind) i guess we will see this taboo going to be crossed even more.

Its kinda late at night here so my thought process is... . Well you are right. I even saw most of the films you mentioned. But i guess the rule implies brutality as well. Ofc children dying by not waking up or having some scratches is pretty common. I cannot recall a movie where a child got his limbs blown away. I assume thats what is implied into this rule (at least genocyber has that)
