comment Why is child acting legal?
@his: +1 for "strong lobby groups"... I think that is the answer to this question. Other justifications are probably smokescreen for the lobbying.

comment Why is child acting legal?
"a child acting in a movie/play is that the latter is creative art and does not force a child to take part in the activity of acting" IDK... it's not hard to imagine a pushy parent forcing the child to take part...

comment Is the lens on Gerty 3000 from “Moon” a reference to HAL from “2001: A Space Odyssey”?
True, lots of AI out there -- but the Moon android immediately and continuously made me think of HAL. I can't say the same about C3P0 or any other movie AI that comes to mind. Also, Moon's plot is largely about interaction of AI with leading actor, just like 2001 (I added the fourth bullet to my answer to help drive this home).

Wow, Neftlix says no product placement? As if the mention of Playstation Vita served any other purpose...

comment Why does Alfred suddenly start to encourage Bruce's darker side in episode S01E08?
"And you remember that I let him try." Damn, that is so harsh! I like this Angry Alfred. His reaction almost suggests he had a soft spot for Mrs. Wayne...

comment What was that old movie where the guy got turned into a stone statue
Yeah, saw that. Thing is OP memories are often inaccurate, especially when they're from 30 years ago, when OP was 4 years old. My theory is "post the answer in case it happens to be right." Doesn't cost anyone anything, does it?
