comment Does Al Pacino really slap Diane Keaton in The Godfather II?
Her comment about the audience members who applauded is fascinating. At same time, this answer does not address whether the slap was real. -1

comment Why was Amy not arrested?
Also absurd that they wouldnt follow up after they almost arrested the wrong guy for murder. I mean I am pretty sure professional homicide detectives would recognize in hindsight that all the original clues had been supplied by Amy, and that pride would compel them to investigate her thoroughly.

comment Did John McClane know Bill Clay was really Hans Gruber? If so, how?
FYI, I have seen some mention on the 'net that the script originally called for John McClane to recognize Han's watch from earlier, when John was watching from above the elevator during the "Now I have a machine gun - ho ho ho" scene. This would be consistent with the movie's anti-materialism sub-theme, which is discussed here: reddit.com/r/FanTheories/comments/1hz9a5/…

Thanks very much for the thorough answer. You even explain why Hans keeps the cigarette pack (because it is empty) which is something I had never understood. And the rest of your explanation also makes sense. Answer accepted.

comment How come the Precogs can't prevision the murder of Agent Danny Witwer in the film Minority report?
They were offline when the murder happened... but why didn't they foresee the murder BEFORE they were offline?

comment Why did Django come to Candieland?
+1 OP starts question with "I'm not sure it's ever explained" and this answer clearly shows that it is explained, and provides the explanation.

comment Why did Kubrick avoid a direct explanation to “Clockwork orange”'s meaning?
@Stefan: Sarcasm noted, if not appreciated. You're welcome to all the interpretations you'd like. Personally I'm going to stick with mine, which matches the intepretation quoted in the answer below, from Anthony Burgess -- you know, the author of the book.

comment Why did Kubrick avoid a direct explanation to “Clockwork orange”'s meaning?
@Stefan The title does not refer to sexual orientation. It refers to the idea that an organic entity like an orange (or a human) is nothing more than a mechanical contraption like a clock, and can be re-programmed accordingly.

@PaulStock at that point of the near-drowning, his friends had overpowered him -- he couldn't fight back

@AE I don't think the movie suggested the aliens made the glasses-- instead, IIRC, the glasses were made by human rebels. So stop dissing "They Live"! ;)
