comment Why does the eye surgeon help Anderton
+1 I agree that the doctor truly did see the light in jail. I would just add that, yes, the doctor's back-story is also a plot device meant to call his trustworthiness into question, thereby boosting the suspense about whether he will help or hurt Anderton.

comment Why is the movie titled “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”?
+1 good answer. I'd just add that (per Wikipedia) the title comes from "the poem Eloisa to Abelard by Alexander Pope, the story of a tragic love affair, where forgetfulness became the heroine's only comfort:" How happy is the blameless vestal's lot! / The world forgetting, by the world forgot. / Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! / Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd

comment What is the meaning behind Pussy Galore's name?
I think Wikipedia is wrong about Pussy Galore being a double entendre. A double entendre has double meaning, like this from Tomorrow Never Dies: when Bond is disturbed by the telephone while in bed with a Danish girl, he explains to Moneypenny that he is busy "brushing up on a little Danish" which could mean either practicing language or having sex. So if Pussy Galore is a double entendre, what are its two meanings?
