Why does Weyland have to hide that he was on the ship? Without the secrecy, the movie wouldn't feature the twist of the secret coming out. So it could be the writers worked it in for suspense's sake. |

What's the purpose of the cube? As for "any situation on earth as a metaphor for life," I disagree there. For example, Die Hard is not a metaphor for life, it's a cops-and-robbers story (and a darn good one). But to me, Cube seems focused on the mystery of existence. |

What's the purpose of the cube? Christian, I thought your comment under the original question has a lot in common with my answer here. You say " the cube had no actual purpose"... and I say "exactly!" LOL :) |

What's the real meaning of the birth of the alien in Prometheus? @oers and binarcode: the answer doesn't say that the Prometheus scene showed the FIRST alien birth -- just AN alien birth. To make sure the audience doesn't miss that this is how aliens get made. |

Did Indiana Jones kill anyone besides the sword-swinger in “Raiders…”? the perfect answer -- thanks! Judging by the video, I'd say Indy directly kills a total of somewhere between 6 and 12 bad guys, almost all by gunshot. |

How does Cohagen track Quaid after the bug is removed? I haven't seen the original in years, so I don't remember how clear image was. But if it is clearly the woman, then I tend to agree with your theory. |

How does Cohagen track Quaid after the bug is removed? I didn't mean the computer read his mind. Instead, he thought he was describing some fantasy woman, but he was actually describing the woman he had already met and fallen for -- so it's no surprise that he described her accurately. |

How does Cohagen track Quaid after the bug is removed? Explanation would be that he had already met that woman and fallen in love, before he was brainwashed to be the assembly line worker. Also, if I remember correctly, the description he gave was not detailed (something like "brunette and athletic") and the image on the screen was also not detailed. |

What purpose did Quaid serve Cohagen as an Average Joe on the assembly line? +1 Wow, I love this idea. Hadn't thought of it but it makes lots of sense. Only possible objection that comes to mind: Quaid's adventure begins just before he gets the Recall treatment. Still, this is very intriguing. |

What purpose did Quaid serve Cohagen as an Average Joe on the assembly line? +1 good points. also the impending invasion of "the colony" helped add urgency, making the rebels more willing to gamble on Quaid. |

What purpose did Quaid serve Cohagen as an Average Joe on the assembly line? This matches my understanding of the movie, leading to another question: from the rebels' perspective, would they really trust Quaid MORE after he was captured and then came back with his mind re-written? Seems like they would be more suspicious, not more trusting. Seems like they would not accept the Trojan Horse. |

What purpose did Quaid serve Cohagen as an Average Joe on the assembly line? +1 your answer helps explain the motivation in the 1990 version of Total Recall, but in the 2012 version, the rebel leader does not have the ability to tell if someone's mind has been tampered with. |

What type of leader is Bane? Good points. I up-voted and I'm leading toward accepting. During the opening scene, I got the impression that Bane somehow inspired a do-anything-for-him loyalty, but maybe that loyalty only applied to a few close minions. Which makes it all the more impressive that Bane managed everyone so smoothly throughout the 5-month occupation. |

In “Dark Knight Rises” what was U.S. government's strategy? Thank you, I must have misunderstood. I thought Bain announced the five-months limit in his stadium speech to freak everyone out. I didn't realize it was only certain characters who were aware of five-months thing... seemed like common knowledge |
