In Skyfall, what happened in the boat on the way to the island? Thanks for mentioning those follow-up questions... I must admit I had forgotten about them after getting into the debate on the headline question. I just changed my -1 to +1. |

In Skyfall, what happened in the boat on the way to the island? Ok we agree about that. But I don't think it applies to original question here. |

in Skyfall opening scene on train, does Bond fake getting shot? I like your reasoning. But wouldn't we have seen some evidence of a bullet wound when Bond is shirtless? As I recall, the only visible wound on his upper body was from the bad guy's shrapnel. |

Why was the surgery pod configured only for men in Prometheus? I had forgotten about her verbal request of Cesarean. I agree that it lessens the credibility of my answer here. Thanks for your insight on this, Doc. |

In Skyfall, what happened in the boat on the way to the island? -1 because this seems to contradict itself... "Everything she did or was doing was on Silva's command" but then "fear of Silva and hope that Bond just might be her savior, brings her to do what she did." Also it ignores key scene - see my answer. |

Prometheus: Why did the crew take off their helmets? I agree it's more satisfying to have an in-movie answer. But movie content is frequently impacted by logistical concerns. For example, on director's commentaries on DVDs, you'll often hear "we wanted to do X but couldn't because of Y." |

What does the missing symbol on Quaid's arm in Total Recall (2012) symbolize? Wow, how could they cut such a crucial element from the movie? IMHO the film would have benefited greatly if there was a more-in-depth exploration of the dream/reality question. Instead, it feels like this element of the story is barely touched. |

In Total Recall, how did Quaid know who to shoot when someone pretended to be trying to “wake him up”? In the original movie, the man's drop of sweat indicated the man was not a computer-generated hallucination but a real human who was scared because he was in real danger. Similarly, in the remake, the woman's tear indicated she was experiencing genuine emotion and therefore was a real person. I'll edit this into the answer now... |

How did they dispose old Joe's wife's body in the movie Looper (2012)? What happens at the end of Looper means that the murder of Old Joe's wife never happens. In fact, Old Joe and his wife never even meet. Lucky for her! |

In “Dark Knight Rises” what was U.S. government's strategy? Those Spec-Ops guys were such an obvious plot device! In other words, they were clearly inserted into the story to provide necessary exposition, such as what is noted in comment above. Part of why I didn't love Dark Knight Rises. |

What service do the boys provide at the out houses? I assumed the kids operate like the "squeegee bandits" who wash car windows without being asked. You don't have to pay them, but many people do pay to avoid being bothered or threatened. |

In “La jetée” does the time-traveler's body stay in the present time? I'm not so sure that the body travels in La Jetee. I've added more explanation to my question to help explain my view. |

Who framed Roger Rabbit? As you note, "it was never Maroon's intention for there to be a murder," so it was just Doom who framed Roger Rabbit. |

In Back to the Future Part II, how could old Biff have made it back to 2015? Actually, this doesn't address the issue of which 2015 Old Biff would have returned to. Still seems he would have returned to a 2015 that resulted from him having the almanac -- not the same 2015 he departed from. |

In Back to the Future Part II, how could old Biff have made it back to 2015? I am on verge of accepting this answer... only hesitating because the scene in this answer does not actually occur in the movie. So some might argue it is not valid. But I think I still will accept.... |
