Did the Ludovico technique work on Alex or was he just faking all the time? +1 you raise good points. IMHO he was truly overpowered by Dim & Georgie when they hold his head in water, and could not fight back at that point. And the Beethoven-suicide scene is a dream-metaphor (this being a Kubrick film) for Alex finally "growing up" -- leaving behind his out-of-control youth for a more socially acceptable (but still self-serving) adulthood. Did the Ludovico technique work on Alex or was he just faking all the time? +1 though keep in mind, if he revealed that he was faking by defending himself, he might have been put back in prison. So he might have had a good reason to not defend himself. |

Something I don't understand about the ending of 12 Monkeys @atticae, young Cole was indeed at the airport when the redheaded scientist opened the first virus vial at the baggage check. The movie does not explain why young Cole was not infected. I've always assumed he (and other survivors) were spared just by randomness -- perhaps some sort of mutation that made them immune, or perhaps they just got lucky and didn't inhale the same toxic air particles that claimed others around them. |

In “Flight” could the early trouble with turbulence have led to the crash? +1 Thanks for insight. I just updated question to ask if either the maneuvers OR the turbulence itself could have caused later failure and crash. |

Translating the Jive dialogue Why not include the subtitles for the last few lines? Second Jive Dude: What it is, big mama? My mama no raise no dummies. I dug her rap! [Ma'am, I'm not stupid. I understand what she just said.] Jive Lady: Cut me some slack, Jack! Chump don' want no help, chump don't GET da help! [Give me a break! If you don't want help, I won't help you!] First Jive Dude: Say 'e can't hang, say seven up! [Damn, she implied that he didn't understand!] Jive Lady: Jive-ass dude don't got no brains anyhow! Shiiiiit. [Nevermind. He's stupid, anyway.] |

Translating the Jive dialogue +1 great question! IMHO this is one of the best comedy scenes of all time. "Oh, stewardess? I speak jive." LMAO! |

What was the purpose of Candie's handshake in Django Unchained? I would guess the "grabbing it in a certain spot" is a reaction to Candie's grabbing it "full fisted." In other words, Schultz was so disgusted by Candie that he minimized his contact with the pen Candie just man-handled. |
