comment Was Mace Windu falling into the Dark Side?
I think you raise a second point that might even make another good question. Mace says he's too dangerous to live and Anakin says it's not the Jedi way. That raises a question of if there is a point where someone is so powerful in the Force that they are too dangerous to let live and, if so, what is the Jedi way of containing, handling, or killing them?

comment When was the Star Wars Chasm Fail edited out?
It was removed. Yes, I saw a later version with it in, but I remember being there with a friend, waiting for the line, and it being cut - and both my friend and I looked at each other in shock that it was changed.

I still don't buy that. I've seen movies that have had bits cut out from soon after the initial release (for instance, in the 1980s Batman, the Joker's "Where does he get those wonderful toys?" was soon cut to "Get those wonderful toys.") It was a long time from when I saw the movie until I could read the book, if I ever read it.

According to this the earliest Laserdisc release of A New Hope was in the 1980s. While a few movies were out, in the US, before 1980 (notably Jaws), this is before VHS or Beta was at a price where any but the wealthy could afford one.

comment Eskimo Boy in Kayak on Long Journey
I have found, in the past, that my friends and I, in different parts of the country and the world actually got different results from Google when we used the same search terms in the same order. I don't know if that still happens, though.

I wish I could find more detail to connect this with the few memories I have of the movie, but this is a big help, especially for convincing me I wasn't making this up. I was sure the title was "Wilderness Journey," but that kept bringing up a movie from the 1990s. It's nice to know I did remember that correctly and the different spelling explains why I couldn't find it using "Kushtaka" as a search term. I'm curious about how you found it. Did you remember the title "Joniko and the Kush Ta Ka?" Also, since it's so low rated, I can understand why there's so little information available!

Apologies, @DavRob60. I thought I had picked an answer and lost track of this. Sorry it took a few years...

comment B&W sci-fi: crashed meteor that hypnotizes people that encounter it
That rules out the one I was thinking of. It sounds almost like it could be It Came From Outer Space, since they're in trances, but in the long run, they turned out to be just trying to fix their ship and leave Earth.

Do you remember if the aliens were peaceful or hostile?

comment Identify this sci-fi movie in which a scientist and his family move into a new house
Do you remember anything about the movie other than what was in it? What country was it from? Was it a feature film, or just made for TV? Could it have been just a TV episode?
