Why couldn't Clara understand the aliens? I think is as good an explanation as we're going to be able to come up with without asking the show's creators - thanks! One other point someone else mentioned was Clara's comment that the Tardis didn't like her. |

Why is Gandalf referred to as Mithrandir? Tolkein did this a few times - Strider/Aragorn/Elessar. I think the idea is that they're wandering characters and different races have created their own names for them. |

How did The Doctor revert his aging? My interpretation was that the paradox machine was only to allow the "toclafane" to destroy earth's population without wiping themselves out. I'm intrigued by your theory - as I said in my answer I don't think there's any way to know for sure. |

How did Rose make Jack immortal? I don't think there's a way it can be answered without a little more from the creators unfortunately... my personal theory is that he doesn't die - he simply 'evolves' |

How did The Doctor revert his aging? It's a throw away comment she makes in one of the later series designed to explain the actor growing older as her character growing younger... To be honest I don't know if it's part of the DW lore but it ties in nicely. |
