Yes! I highly recommend watching the prequel and then immediately watching the original. The amount of detail they paid attention to in the prequel is pretty awesome!

His dog died and he reanimated it, that's why he doesn't touch the dog. Also, his mother died from an anyurism or something, he reanimted her, then the neighbor died, then he accidentally touched her again and killed her.

I think that giving a rating for the 3D effects used in a movie, in the end, comes down to opinion. From what I've heard and seen, different people perceive the effects of 3D a bit differently, and this can even be affected by the setup of the theater.
