The ending in Prometheus Thanks Oliver...that is a nice explaination of the relationship between David and Elizabeth. I do think, before it's all over with, one of the engineers has to crash one of the ships onto LV-426 to complete the whole prequel franchise of Prometheus. |

Infection timelines of John Carpenter's The Thing The infected timeline is an attempt to put answers where something can't and shouldn't be answered. This is what horrifies the viewer. Carpenter did a great job on playing with your paranoia. In some parts of the film, it appears that even the infected may not know they are infected until they are in close proximity with or alone with another to be infected, or are injured and must react (like in the blood tests). Perfect imitation and the camera not always on all members is what makes it impossible to answer, thus more fun. |

Ending of The Thing (2011) The dog survives and arrives at an American station, this is what starts the Carpenter version from 1982. The survival of Kate in the new prequel is keeping the franchise open for a sequel to the original Carpenter film (Assuming she survives and isn't infected). Kate could make it to another camp (maybe Russian) to warn people, thus leading an exploration team to eventually find Macready and Childs dead/frozen or still waiting out the fire in the first film. (Lars chasing the dog in the helicopter and arriving at the American station starts that chain of events). |
