Was the success of Rupert Pupkin real in King of Comedy? It looks open to interpretation. However one difference between the final scene and the other fantasies of Rupert Pupkin (mentioned by you) is the presence of Jerry Langford. Jerry Langford is present in each of his fantasies but in the final scene there is no mention of a meeting between the two. Hence I think it is reality. |

In Mystic River, How did listening to the 911 tape solve the case? Well Sean and Whitey did not know their identities but still they could not count out the possibility of the presence of Ray's gun in his household. They also knew that the boys knew about Katie. Any way the later still look more probable. |

How does Leonard know about his condition? Once taught we never forget cycling, driving, changing cloths and other mundane activities as our subconscious gets used to them. I think you can relate yourself to one of these activities. For example in the movie Sammy could easily administer the drug injection with precision. Hence being used to his condition Leonard is able to identify his short term memory loss. |
