I’ve watched (too) many movies and television shows. Unfortunately having OCD makes it a time-consuming addiction that is difficult to quit. I’m considering some day making a list of all of the movies and shows I’ve watched, but that would be more work than actually watching them.

In general, I don’t write reviews because I find it to be frustrating enough to watch them in the first place, let alone spend extra time to write about them. That said, I occasionally do write reviews for shows or movies that I either really love or really hate.

I watch television shows and movies of all genres and dates, but I am not fond of reality-shows because they cheapen the art and work.

These days, I find that most of the movies I watch tend to be in the summer when television becomes "light" because during the TV season, I just don't have the time, what with at least 10 hours per night on average.

Thankfully, when the VLC (VideoLan Client) video-player changed their speed setting so that it only affects the tempo instead of the pitch of the audio, it became possible for me to watch videos at high speed. Now I find it difficult to watch even things I like at less than 130%, let alone junk that I don't want to watch (depending on what it is, I have managed to successfully watch some things as fast as ~210% before it becomes unwatchable!)

I also manage my never-ending, ever-growing list by having things I don't care about running on TV or in the corner of the monitor while I work on other things.

comment How did Selene get pregnant?
No, I did not; in fact I am talking specifically about them. The lines indicates that Selene didn’t know that Eve was born, but it says nothing about Selene knowing whether she was pregnant or not. She could have been pregnant already or the scientists could have extracted DNA and made her in a Petri dish.

I don’t understand why this was accepted, it doesn’t answer the question. The closest it comes is by assuming that if Selene was already pregnant, she knew about it which of course isn’t guaranteed (especially for someone busy fighting all the time).

comment Man learns hypnosis and mind-reading; helps police during interrogations
It’s called “The Misadventures of Merlin Jones”. So it’s a comedy? That’s odd because there is an old episode of Twilight Zone that is almost identical to what you described (a guy can suddenly hear thoughts, overhears plans for a crime, turns out to have misunderstood). The TW episode however was not a comedy. I recall it very well because he got the powers after having thrown a coin that landed on its edge, then at the end, when he lost the ability, he threw a coin that landed flat. So does Merlin Jones also fit the first part of your question as well?

Todd (3465) from Soldier does not match what I described at all other than having the letters T-O-D in his name. Besides, I already determined that I was thinking of a character from the DragonLance novels.

@wbogacz, Oops! :-o Chrome’s auto-correct is too aggressive (and dumb). Thanks for the correction.

@JacobG, Yes, Legacy is parallel, but they wanted to do a prequel; but when have plans ever worked out exactly as expected?

I already found him. It was Brion James.

The answer is never going to change. Moreover, I specifically asked for help on finding it myself, and a more effective search engine than IMDB’s limited “advanced” search, or some sort of effective search query pattern would be generic and universally applicable. Maybe I’ll edit the question to be more general. Besides, of all SE sites, identify-this questions make the most sense here.

No, I already saw Glover in the list, but this one is American. I’m pretty sure this one also has a slightly pointer head than Glover.

It turns out that I was not thinking of a movie at all; the character I was thinking of was named Toede, but he is from the Dragonlance novels.

comment Why is director's name shown last in the title sequence?
Bingo! That’s the real reason that the DGA rule exists. It’s the last thing you see before the movie starts. Conversely, the director’s name is also the first thing you see after it ends. Similarly, the writer’s name is the second-last during opening credits and second during end credits. Also, the actors are listed first during opening and last (before the main roll) during end. It’s all about establishing who is responsible for the movie in a memorable way.

That’s what I figured, but what exactly does that have to do with anime?

comment Is Eisenheim's sword illusion realistic?
@iandotkelly, I never claimed it was a complete answer or enough to actually implement. It is just a general theory to explain most of the illusion. And, magicians are often quite resourceful and invent things for their illusions, so it’s entirely possible that a magician could have been the one to figure out a way to make a really strong electromagnet (like the make-shift one that Walt used in the recent Breaking Bad season premier).

Yes, it is curious how he made it stand on end. Magicians can be incredibly inventive and frequently pull of tricks that look completely impossible (until you see how it’s done, then it seems to obvious).

comment Why didn't the fog enter the supermarket in The Mist?
I’m pretty sure that the mist did come in a bit when the windows broke, just not as a big, rolling fog, but rather as a thin veil that was dispersed by the AC. I’d have to check again, but I’m sure the color palette of the scene got a little faded once the windows broke. As for the loading-dock door, if I remember correctly, I think it did indeed seem like there was a barrier.

The source of the monsters was never really answered definitively, only speculations about scientific experiments and such, but even then, it was not really supernatural, just alien. So I agree that there was nothing special, intelligent, or alive about the mist itself (I think the same can be said about the fog in The Fog as well). I can completely imagine and even feel the chill in the supermarket due to its air-conditioning, which of course would make the windows and air cold, causing molecules of water vapor cold and thus to condense outside instead of seeping in and staying aloft.

comment Teenager gets girl to fall in love with him in order to get revenge on her
It sounds like She’s All That, This Time Around, as well as How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (except for the teenager part), and if it were the other way around, John Tucker Must Die. It’s kind of hard to pin down because there have been so many “rom-coms” recently, and quite a few of them could fit.

> there is no benefit to keeping her and potentially a lot of trouble Sadly that does not mean that they will cut her loose; they can still make plenty by selling her. Of course Bryan does not necessarily know they will sell her, but even so, she has probably already seen and heard plenty of stuff that could get them caught (especially since he trained her to be observant), so it is easier and in their interests to just kill her and cut their losses and use Kim’s friend instead. Humans suck. :-(

@JürgenA.Erhard, yes, I know what a toad is. He is not actually a toad; that’s just a nickname, and names are often modified.
