comment What is Kevin from?
For anyone checking the math, the movie came out in 2011 and the novel came out in 2003. Cabin in the Woods was released in 2012, so it may have been inspired by the novel rather than the film adaptation.

comment Question about Rachel Posner and Doug Stamper
Frankly (no pun intended), I think the Rachel plot is overrated in its importance. She was only relevant in her connection to Peter who is himself irrelevant by the end of the first season, so having Doug continue to bribe and hide her for so long seems pointless and contrived. If he wanted her quiet, he could have killed her right away (murder seems to be de rigueur in political thrillers, especially on cable). Either they wanted to really play up the Doug obsession to make the character more complex, or they just wanted to give Rachel Brosnahan more work).

@lgoss, yes, the boy and girl were friends when they were little and were reunited and fell in love years later when they were older.

comment What does “4P” mean?
Okay, that makes sense. I guess this is a good example of a time-sensitive and context-dependent joke.

comment What does “4P” mean?
That page does not mention a 4-P; I suppose he made it up. I can only assume that the audience (in the movie and viewers of the movie) got the joke because the Vietnam war was still fresh in their minds so they were familiar with the classifications.
