comment What is the inspiration for Trial by Combat?
@JonathonWisnoski: Because historically, the smart people aren't the ones committing the crimes; they're the ones that the brutes commit crimes against. That's the entire point of the rule of law: to prevent the strong from dominating and imposing the Law of the Jungle, and thus establishing a foundation upon which civilized society can be built.

comment What is the inspiration for Trial by Combat?
@JonathonWisnoski: I'm struggling a little with the description of a system that tilts the playing field away from favoring the intelligent as "logical".

comment Why does the Amazing Spider Man not have the natural power to shoot web?
Producing and secreting that much organic material that quickly puts a tremendous metabolic load on the body. (That's the reason why breast feeding is such a good way for a new mother to get her weight back down.) Organic webs would have required Peter to suddenly start eating a huge amount more than his previous diet in order to keep up with it. Ironically, the Andrew Garfield version of Peter Parker started eating a lot more, and the Tobey Maguire version did not.

comment Is it really as easy to knock someone out in real life as in the movies?
I would suggest the upper part of the jaw bone or the temple. I would suggest not doing something like that at all if you value your freedom; knocking someone out without also causing death or serious, permanent injury is a lot harder than movies make it look!

comment Is Captain America worthy of Mjolnir?
@Snowman: *facepalm* I thought I had seen someone asking a similar question earlier, but I searched all over the tag and didn't find it, so I figured I must have been mistaken. Turns out that I did see it; it was just on a different SE site. :(

comment How does stan lee's random appearance work in Marvel Cinematic Universe?
The best Stan Lee movie cameo, though, wasn't in the list above. Hard to say, whether it's in the Spider-Man reboot (janitor wearing headphones) or in Big Hero 6 (post-credits scene). :P
