"To avoid criticism do nothing, say nothing, be nothing.."
(Elbert Hubbard)

I studied Physics at the University of Vienna, but I'm interested in all natural sciences.

Since I don't believe in life after death I try to explore and learn as much as I can about this world.

comment How was the main problem dealt with?
I'm assuming that Amelia landed on Edmund's planet about the same time Cooper was rescued, which is 50+ years after sending the message to Murphy. This would mean that mankind left earth before knowing whether there is a suitable planet on the other side of the wormhole. - I actually kinda expected a twist ending, where Amelia lands on Edmund's planet only to find it already colonized. But for some reason the earthlings never made it to that planet in the 50+ years.

comment Why is Christian Bale not in the upcoming movie Batman vs Superman?
@AndrewMartin - Yes, I get that, but the OP's question is: "Why didn't they cast Bale as Batman again?" And to me the answer isn't 'Because they couldn't get him to reprise his role' (as far as I know he wasn't even offered the role), but because the upcoming Batman is not supposed to be Bale's Batman.

@AndrewMartin - My point is that the reason why a different actor will be playing Batman is because it's a different iteration. And this new iteration didn't come about because Bale was not interested in reprising the character, but because Nolan and Goyer made a creative decision to not have the TDK trilogy be part of the upcoming shared universe .

comment Why is Christian Bale not in the upcoming movie Batman vs Superman?
@AndrewMartin - In 2007/08 Warner Bros. came very close to producing a 'Justice League' film. There was a script, a director and a cast, with Armie Hammer as a new Batman. - I don't think this reboot has anything to do with Bale not wanting to reprise his role. Nolan and Goyer simply never intended for the Dark Knight trilogy to be part of a shared universe.

comment Why did it take a rocket to lift off the Earth but just shuttles to lift off the other planets?
As a side note, escape velocity is only relevant for 'ballistic' trajectories, i.e. if you want to throw something off the earth. - It's possible to escape earth with much lower speeds. Elevators defy earth's gravity without being very fast. Now imagine an elevator that goes all the way up into space. If there is continuous "thrust", reaching escape velocity isn't important. - Now, who knows how the engines on those Landers and Rangers work?

comment Why is Christian Bale not in the upcoming movie Batman vs Superman?
@AndrewMartin - Sure, if Bale had lobbied for role they probably would have tried to come up with explanations how superpowered heroes (Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman,...) could have existed in that trilogy's universe, but my point is that 'Man of Steel' and the subsequent DC movies weren't conceived as a continuation of Nolan's trilogy. So I'd say the casting of another actor isn't due to Bale's refusal, but because the upcoming movies are not connected to Nolan's trilogy.

comment Why is Christian Bale not in the upcoming movie Batman vs Superman?
@AndrewMartin - Nolan's Batman wasn't designed to live in a universe where other superheroes exist: ' I don’t think our Batman, our Gotham, lends itself to that kind of cross-fertilization'. - And David Goyer, who wrote "Man of Steel" and co-wrote the Batman trilogy also said that the Superman reboot does not exist in the same universe as the Nolan's Batman.

The upcoming DC movies are not connected to Nolan's Batman trilogy, so it seems perfectly normal to not cast Bale as Batman again. - Just like casting Ezra Miller as the Flash makes it clear that the TV-verse (which stars Grant Gustin as the Flash) is seperate from the movie-verse. (Unlike e.g. Marvels 'Agents of SHIELD')
