Is there any (real-world) significance to the numbers 28:06:42:12 from Donnie Darko? The movie story happens in about 28 days, and the movie was shot in 28 days. So the movie was effectively shot in real time. |

What operating system does Tony Stark use on his office desktop? From the pictures, I'd say it's inspired by OS X. |

Why are computer hackers shown to either be geniuses, or show them doing it in fantastic ways? After that comic, I'm sure one of the passwords every cracker checks first will be "correct horse battery staple" :-) |

Why are computer hackers shown to either be geniuses, or show them doing it in fantastic ways? Another point: Many sites allow to set a new password by having the site send you a confirmation email, under the assumption that only you can read your email. Thus as soon as someone can access your email account, he can break into all accounts with such a password protection scheme. |

Why do the aliens see things as green or red? @LaurentPireyn: Think of cattle. Traditionally they are both a food source (beef is one of the dominant meat types!) and a working animal (not in our mechanized agriculture, but the standard for any old time peasant who couldn't afford a horse). |

Were any non-CGI movies shot in their entirety though a colored lens/filter? I guess non-CGI colouring would be as simple as using coloured light when copying. One disadvantage would be that the coloured master then already is a copy, which means slightly less quality. |

Why was Kurosawa the first director to shoot the sun? "It was even thought that the sun’s rays shining directly into your lens would burn the film in your camera." That's at least a perceived technical obstacle. |

Identify the movie where all phones on Earth ring in unison at the end Probably the "all phones" ringing memory came from the fact that the computer electrocuted itself using a phone call (and before there were other phone calls arriving). Actually when reading the description I remembered having seen that movie (but wouldn't have been able to tell the title, but your answer was already there anyway). But strange, in my memory the graphics on the computer screen was far more advanced ... maybe it's because the graphics on the real computers I've seen at that time wasn't too advanced either :-) |

Movie with a cat and an anti-smoking organisation? Sorry for confusing; but this is indeed the movie I meant. Now knowing the title, I've found that it is on Youtube and watched the beginning to be sure (unfortunately the image quality is not good enough to identify what is in the jacket ... but as he says "then we give up" before opening the jacket — a detail I didn't remember —, I guess it's a weapon). |

Why was Kurosawa the first director to shoot the sun? Googling around I've found that 1948 a less flammable celluloid film stock acceptable for movie producers was introduced. Given that Rashomon was made just two years later, this supports the hypothesis that the fear of igniting the film might have played a role. Unfortunately I couldn't find any information about what type of film stock Rashomon was filmed on. |

What rules govern how TV show opening credits are structured? The link doesn't go to an Opening Credits wiki (I guess it would be a too narrow topic for a complete wiki anyway), but to Wikipedia |
