At first, I was under the impression that using words like "f*ck","d*ck","pu**sy" etc. is not a big deal in Western countries. But later my concept changed slightly when at the films, I also observed that families don't want their child to see or listen to those words, implying they are conscious about the vulgarism of these words.

So later I thought, why do they use vulgar words in movies then? Is it solely for business purpose? Or is it always been a culture in Hollywood movies to use them? If not, then when did the culture start infecting the industry?

People frequently swear. Especially in high stress situations where there are no children around.

To have film characters not do this would cause the dialog to be unrealistic and reduce the audience involvment and, therefore, enjoyment.
