I had a friend tell me this story once .. The boy can bring anyone back from the dead (not physically i think but like a spirit) and talk to him and find out how that person died, ask him questions etc. But the catch is that after 8 minutes or something, someone else also has to die because that person was brought back.

Does anyone know what movie this is?

Sounds a bit like a TV-show called 'Dead Like Me'.. It's about a boy who (sort of) 'reincarnates' into a girl's body (not sure if (s)he is alive again) and in a way 'collects' souls of people who just died, to pass to heaven or something like that. This sounds like the premise of the TV Show Pushing Daisies. I do not know if there was a movie that used a similar premise.

Ned possesses the unique talent of being able to bring the dead to life merely by touching them. However, the person may remain alive only for one minute, or else someone else dies for them. A second touch will render the person dead again, unable to be revived.

This is the plot of the television show 'Pushing Daisies', which lasted about 2 years from September 2007 - June 2009. The show followed the boy Ned, now a man, in his relationship with a woman Charlotte (Chuck) he loves deeply, but can never touch. He and Chuck, and a friend Emerson (Chi McBride) would solve cases this way, by enlivening the victims, getting details of the crime, and pursuing the guilty to justice.

His dog died and he reanimated it, that's why he doesn't touch the dog. Also, his mother died from an anyurism or something, he reanimted her, then the neighbor died, then he accidentally touched her again and killed her. – DForck42♦ Jan 18 '12 at 21:18

This reminds me of Jonah Hex, but it's not about alittle boy and nobody has to die after a few minutes. Maybe it's also some other movie with this character - as I know, it's based on a comic book.
