In the Sex and the City TV series and movies it seems that the four women spend all their time dating, shopping, meeting each other, or otherwise pursuing personal time. How do they actually earn enough to live their lifestyles?

Well, I guess their work is just not interresting enough to be shown to the audience (though I can't believe its never mentioned). You don't see their whole working day, don't you? And in the end at least Carrie is earning her living with exactly what the show is about, talking about her adventures in her column. – Christian Rau Jan 9 at 15:28
I haven't seen enough of the show to answer the question but I'm hoping that someone has – A Pale Shadow Jan 9 at 16:40
Do you have any further questions regarding the existing answers? – Christian Rau yesterday
@ChristianRau Did you post to the wrong question because what you've said makes no sense to me – A Pale Shadow yesterday
Huh? I just wanted to know if you have any further questions about the answers to your question, since they look quite correct so I wondered why they didn't get accepted. If you don't want to accept it, then that's your decision, but some information in which way the question isn't yet answered might be helpful for the answerer (or other potential answerers). – Christian Rau yesterday

Charlotte is fortunate enough to have men who will give her money (Trey from divorce, Harry from marriage). At the start of the series, she works in a gallery.

Carrie is a writer for the New York Star and in later series writes for Vogue.

Miranda is a successful lawyer, becoming a partner in later episodes or the first movie (can't remember which).

Samantha works in PR and is very well regarded.

Carrie earns $4 per word at Vogue. This article makes a good analysis of her budget. – fdisk Jan 13 at 20:57
