I've been trying to remember what movie this is and can't find it anywhere on google. All I remember is that it took place in a hospital (or something similar) that had house a certain number of patients who had all died (I think they were burn victims?) While investigating, one of the characters found a file for a patient who I thought was known as V (as in 5--though I could be getting it confused with V for Vendeta). The patient was known by some sort of numerical name. I believe the patient's name helped the entire story tie together in the end. I think the patient might have been the only one to survive or something.

Note: I realize it sounds very similar to V for Vendetta, but it's not that movie.

If anyone has any ideas about what movie this is, I'd really appreciate it! I realize the details are extremely vague and generic..

Hi Emily - can you add when you watched it - it can eliminate more recent movies. Do you have any idea of the age of the movie, even if it is just a feeling? – iandotkelly Jul 26 '12 at 18:33
So here I am, probably trying to remember the same movie. I'm not sure it's session 9 though, beacause I don't remember the building to be abondoned and I also remember the guy who investigated the place was a detective or a doctor like person. Also I remembered the (really low/deep) voice of the patient to be that of a male character. I think I saw the movie somewhere in 2005. Shutter Island had the same story structure. The conclusion was more or less the same but the overall vibe in the unknown movie was way darker and horror like. I remember a disturbing part of the movie where a patient i – user12688 Jul 12 '14 at 21:31

In 2001 there was a movie released called Session 9.

It's about a team of workers who are trying to clean up an old hospital. One of them comes across records and recordings of patient 444 who had multiple personalities. There were nine recordings or "sessions" hence the name of the film. It's one of my favorite thrillers.

Here is a link to the trailer:

that was an interesting movie. Good call on this possibly being it. – DForck42 Jul 26 '12 at 18:26

You don't say how old it is, but there was an oldie (1988) called "Bad Dreams" where a survivor of a mass suicide by fire awakes in a hospital after a 13-year coma, only to be hunted by the badly burned sect leader who was believed dead.

I think the accident/fire/whatever had happened years before, and they were trying to look up the different patients or notify them of something? And the one patient had no name.. I feel like I'm making this up cause I barely remember it, lol. I watched it about 4 years ago, and I think it was relatively recent (like in the 2000's?) – Emily S Jul 26 '12 at 3:17

Not sure about this but have you tried "mirrors" with Kiefer Sutherland? although it is set in an dept store that was ravaged by fire.
