I watched a Black & White movie on TV. It looked like it could be from 60's.

There were some black rock killing people. I only remember one or two scenes. One where a scientist is running some tests and the rocks get water on them and they become animated and kill him. Another scene where a little girl finds some of the black rocks while on a school trip.

Welcome to Movies and TV. Any more details you can provide. When did you see this. Was it on TV? Any suggestion about how old it felt. Any recognizable actors in it? – iandotkelly Jul 15 '12 at 16:16
I can remember if it was on TV but I think it was in B&W. It looked like it could be the 60's but my memory skews things sometimes. – Manny Jul 15 '12 at 16:19

Monolith Monsters from 1957 fits your description. I have not seen it, but it is part of a giant SciFi movie collection from Amazon.

Here's the blurb from Amazon:

In a desperate race against time and nature, a geologist and a scientist must find a way to stop effects of killer outer-space rocks that are literally petrifying people with fear!

That led me to the IMDB entry and description.

It would be helpful if you could mark the answer as correct. Would be useful for people who could be looking for the same movie. – Dredd Jul 16 '12 at 14:12
