Ok, according to IMDB, he is in top 500 Actors, and I can't figure out why he doesn't have any nominations or awards?

In my opinion, he is a B class actor, because he hasn't showed much of awesome acting performance like Christian Bale, Clint Eastwood etc, all I can remember about him is his fighting/martial art skills with simple story line.

Despite all that, I think he deserves some nominations at least, so there might be some explantions for this?

P/s: I found he has an award here, but I won't count it as one since IMDB does not mention it.

Remember that awards are all opinion based. Whether it's a board from the Oscars or People's Choice Award, it's still opinion based. While I love Jason Statham movies, his acting really isn't what I'd call award performances ... I hope he keeps doing it for years to come regardless of what some cinema flunky thinks about him. –  Paulster2 Jul 12 at 14:15

By "cinema flunky", what are you insinuating? –  hoangnnm Jul 12 at 14:21

I'm insinuating I don't like how the Oscars hand out their awards. It has less to do with acting/artistry/value than it has to do with how well someone is liked by the board. It's all about clapping each other on the back, not about who actually did a good job. The cinema flunky I refer to are those who make the decisions about who's the best in these stupid awards shows, not about the movie viewer themselves. –  Paulster2 Jul 12 at 14:27

I don't understand your logic here. You admit that Statham isn't as good as an actor as Bale and Eastwood, yet you still think he should get a nomination? For what? –  System Down Jul 12 at 15:26

@hoangnnm: but what nomination? Someone has to think he's the best at something in order to get nominated. The Golden Globes or SAG or BAFTA awards don't think to themselves, "well, we're a less prestigious award than the Oscars and so we'll nominate the 6-10th best actor performances instead of the 1-5th" ;-) That said, there might exist some specialist awards that would be highly suitable. "Best performance in a mockney action role", between him and Danny Dyer, he could take. –  Steve Jessop Jul 12 at 16:22
