This is a clipping from an Indian (Tamil) movie released in 1968, where the protagonist is an expert in playing Indian musical instruments. In this scene, at 2.30 seconds, he supposedly proves it is possible to play even Western notes using Indian instruments, Nadaswaram and Thavil. While people have been calling this piece 'rock 'n roll' and 'pure waltz', I am unable to latch on to the original Western tune. Can someone please point me to that?

PS: This is another video of the same tune played using a veena.

This youtube video features a keyboard version of the tune. It claims that the work is of an Indian and it is not a Western piece as such. –  Bravo Dec 27 '13 at 13:04

As far as i can tell, the version in the first link is a very fast 4/4 time. Waltz is 3/4 time, so it wouldn't seem to be waltz at all. Bravo's version does seem to be wz –  atk Dec 29 '13 at 6:27
