I remember briefly owning a VHS as a child. I can't remember much from it, but I remember it contained animals and football. It looked old, but it was in color. That's about everything I remember from it. Please help me find out.

You really are going to have to give us more than this to go on. There is almost no way someone could figure this out by what you've given us. Is this animated or live action? What were the animals and footballs doing? In English or subtitled? Anything can help. I'm sure if this movie is important enough for you to ask the question here, you can come up with more than you've given us. –  Paulster2 Dec 27 '13 at 1:04
Were the animals playing the game? Dogs? Monkeys? When were you a child? When do you think the movie came out? This is almost no information to work with. –  Meat Trademark Dec 27 '13 at 5:27

1 Answer 1

Is that American football or soccer? If it is soccer, the movie could be Bedknobs and Broomsticks, (1971). A group of children and two adults travel to an island of animated anthropomorphic animals on an enchanted flying brass bed, in search of a magical medallion.

The group crashland in the animated world of Naboombu, travelling through the lagoon until fished out by a bear, learning no humans are allowed on the island. Mr. Browne speaks with King Leonidas, a lion who is a soccer fanatic and wears the Star of Astaroth, offering to act as referee in an upcoming soccer match. Mr. Browne participates in the chaotic match, which ends with the king’s self-proclaimed victory.

I think its the only movie that fits the (brief) description. –  iandotkelly Dec 27 '13 at 2:55
That's the first one that came to my mind as well, even from the American side of the pond. –  JohnP Dec 27 '13 at 4:03
