I'm just wondering why Wolverine does not appear in his iconic costume when even in last movie there is apparently a deleted scene show such a costume ? See this picture.

I hope the edit makes sense - can you double check to see that I've not lost the question? –  iandotkelly Nov 13 '13 at 4:29

That deleted scene looks like a homage for comic book/cartoon fans. –  Ankit Sharma Nov 13 '13 at 5:43

Well, mostly because the costume is a bit ridiculous when taken out of the context of four-color comics. Might as well ask why Logan's hair doesn't stick out to both sides as much as it does in the comics: just because something works, visually, in the medium of print comics doesn't mean it will work in the medium of live-action cinema.

As @AnkitSharma mentioned in the comments, the deleted scene is probably a nod to comic fans who have a sentimental attachment to how Wolverine looks in the comic books. But in any adaptations changes must be made, and visual and aesthetic changes most of all, to fit the new medium.

I believe if you fire up the wayback machine to the first X-Men movie right after Wolverine joins Charles Xavier at the school, there is a scene where Wolverine holds up the iconic yellow Spandex suit and shakes his head with a look of, "I don't think so" when they are talking about uniforms. In my mind, this scene has a specific purpose. It allows the viewer know that the iconic suit was considered by the film makers, but the idea was discarded due to absurdity of it in the movie. The yellow piping you see in his black leather suit pays homage to the color of the original. –  Paulster2 Nov 13 '13 at 13:20

I don't remember the 'Picking up the costume' scene from the Movie, but I do recall the following from that movie: The team are travelling to rescue Marie from Magneto, in the Blackbird. Logan is struggling to find the leather uniform comfortable, when Scott says; "What would you prefer? Yellow Spandex?", followed by much muted laughter and smirking... –  John Smith Optional Nov 14 '13 at 10:12
