When I was little (around 1990) my brother and I used to watch a lot of Eastern European cartoons. Now I got one particular stuck in my head and I don't know the name or exact country of origin.
A part of the plot (the one I remember) was that there are two animals (I'm pretty sure they are dogs) that play with a ball. At one point the ball rolls into a pond and one dog chases after it and eventually drowns. The other one then stands on a dock and weeps big tears. What's really special about this one is that it's not drawn, but the animals are made of some sort of woolen thread, like the one you use for knitting and the background of the movie was red.
I searched the Internet for days and found nothing. Maybe one of you remembers this one?
