The movie I am trying to remember the name of, has a character who takes photos (each day I think) of a scene outside his studio. He uses them to build a giant image of the view which is displayed on the wall. I think the studio may have been in a church or something as I remember the scene including something like a large palazzio type square. The movie itself is a sort of thriller, revolving around a woman although I cannot remember much about her. I know the movie has a strong theme related to time lines and alternate realities, and things keep changing from one time to another. For some reason, I had thought that the photographer was played by Johnny Depp, but I have looked through info on all his films and it odes not seem to be the case. It is really beginning to drive me mad that I cannot find any clues about it anywhere. Please someone, help?

Momento? He's not a photographer but he uses photos remember what his brain can't (he has a memory issue) –  Liath Aug 14 '13 at 14:11
No not Memento, I have that film and know it well...great movie. Thanks for the suggestion though. –  JaqJ Aug 14 '13 at 14:18
I don't think The Tourist fits to the rest of the descriptions, but given that it's a "thriller around a woman" set in Venice ("palazzio type square"), it may be the reason why you have such a strong image of Johnny Depp in mind. Maybe you mixed motives of this movie with The Toruist? –  Napoleon Wilson Aug 14 '13 at 14:31
@Paulster2 yeah, it was a very long shot (hence not an answer) - I seem to remember a photo or two so guessed! –  Liath Aug 14 '13 at 16:01
@Liath ... I figured as much. For some reason I really like the movie Momento. It was different enough, so struck a chord. The movie is the reason I like Guy Pierce as an actor. I don't believe he is given enough recognition. –  Paulster2 Aug 14 '13 at 17:36
