I saw a movie about a blind con man who seems to get sympathy but right at the very end when you think the movie is over...he shifts his eyes!

What was that movie?

Provide more details, please? Is it a drama, thriller, comedy? If it’s a comedy, and the blind man is black, it could be Richard Pryor in See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989). Or it could be anything else. It’s nigh impossible to tell form this lackadaisical description. –  theUg Jul 16 '13 at 4:22

Sounds a bit like Hoodwink, a 1981 Australian film about a conman who, once imprisoned, convinces everyone that he is blind and no longer a threat to society. I don't remember how he revealed that he had been faking, but it was in the final scene.
