I saw a scene in either a movie or TV show where a man is in a relationship where his feelings for a girl are apparent but the girl does not reciprocate in the same way. He is given an opportunity to change his job location and decides to take it to distance himself from the woman and to avoid any further hurt feelings. I thought it was from The Big Bang Theory but I can't seem to find that episode. Does anyone know what movie or TV show this might be from?

this seems pretty generic. are there any other details you could add? –  DForck42 Apr 26 '13 at 16:36
This could also be the remake of Bedazzled. There are a lot of different stories it could be. If you can provide anymore details at all it would help. –  Kevin Howell Apr 29 '13 at 17:47

It could be The Office. In the second season finale, Casino Night, Jim Halpern expresses his love for Pam Beesly, but she tells him she can't be with him, as she is engaged to Roy Anderson. In the third season premiere Jim has transferred to the Stamford, Connecticut branch, leaving Pam at the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch.
